Monument de la Renaissance Africaine

The African Renaissance Monument overlooks Dakar from the Mamelles hill. A visit combines the monumental staircase, views over the peninsula and, subject to current access conditions, the interior spaces.

• Climb the steps to the main terrace
• See the panorama over Ouakam, the Mamelles and the ocean
• Explore the historical displays inside when access is open
• Enjoy the late-afternoon light from the surrounding area

Good to know

The climb includes many steps and little shade. Bring water and check access conditions for the interior.
